If you have supplied your personal data, including your name and contact details (telephone number or email address), via this website, the HKSAR Government (“Government”) is committed to implement and comply with the data protection principles and all relevant provisions under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) ("PD(P)O").

Statement of Practices

Purposes of collection of personal data

When you submit your feedback on hygiene black spots via this system, you can decide whether to submit your name and contact details according to your personal preference. The relevant Government departments and their contractors will contact you via your contact details provided only when further information is required. In general circumstances, they will take follow-up action independently according to the location of the hygiene problem you provided.

Disclosure and erasure of personal data

Information provided may be disclosed to the relevant Government departments and their contractors for following up on your case, but will not be disclosed to media organisations or members of the public, and will be erased after completion of follow-up action.

Protection measures of personal data

The Government will, in accordance with the PD(P)O and according to the nature of the personal data collected, adopt all reasonable and practicable measures to ensure that all personal data are correct and kept in a secure and confidential manner to prevent unauthorised or accidental access, processing, erasure or other use, and will follow the relevant provisions in making corrections and giving access to data.

Access to and correction of personal data

In accordance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Chapter 486 of the Laws of Hong Kong), you have the rights to:
- enquire about whether the Government hold(s) your personal data;
- request a copy of such personal data by paying an administration fee;
- correct personal data that is inaccurate; and
- ascertain the policies and practices of the Government in relation to personal data.

Any enquiries about the personal data collected in the application form, including access to and correction of personal data, could be made in writing by email to privacy_enquiry@hygieneblackspots.gov.hk.

Information collected when using this system

Cookies in any part of this website will not be used for collecting any personal data. When you use the computer to fill in the application form, cookies containing your font size preferences of the website may be created on the computer, but cookies will not contain the personal data you entered during registration. Without cookies, you may need to adjust the font size of individual web pages, but you can still submit the application form on the computer.

When you use this system to make an appointment registration, we may collect the IP address of the registrant for analysis to prevent any malicious attempt to interfere with the system traffic. These data are only used to optimise the system but will not be used for identification purposes.

Amendment to this privacy policy

The Government reserves the rights to amend its prevailing Privacy Policy at any time and will upload any such amendments to this website.
